Before your visit:
1. Make it interactive - Encourage your children to ask questions and take an active role in the trip. They can help plan the itinerary or list what they want to learn about before leaving.
2. Play games - Games are an excellent way to teach children about different languages, cultures, and customs. You can play matching games, flashcards, and even board games.
3. Create a craft - Make a craft that relates to the country you are visiting or about the world. You can create a globe, a “flags of the world” banner, or a map of the country you are visiting.
4. Read books - Reading books is a great way to learn about different cultures and customs. Look for children's books set in different parts of the world, or books that tell stories about different cultures and traditions. And reading is a great way to prepare them for travel especially if they have never done so before or get nervous and anxious.
5. Research - For older children, you can have them research about the country you are visiting and ask them to share interesting facts they discover.
