But how did this silly holiday get started?

It’s a mystery of when of when it started but historians have some ideas.

Some historians believe April Fools' Day is linked to the ancient Roman festival of "Hilaria." This festival took place at the end of March and people would get together to celebrate the rebirth of the god Attis. People would dress up in disguises and imitate others.

Other historians believe April Fool’s Day dates back to the medieval celebration of the Feast of Fools, where participants would elect a fake Bishop, Archbishop or Pope and and mimic church customs were mimicked.

Another theory is that April Fools' Day has its origins in the 16th century, when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar. The Julian calendar began in March and was celebrated until April 1. By switching to the Gregorian calendar, the new year would now begin on Jan. 1. News traveled slowly back then, and not everyone knew about the change. Those who continued to celebrate in the spring were often made fun of and laughed at.

Regardless of how it started, April Fool's Day is now celebrated all over the world. Kids love playing tricks on their friends and family members, and there are all kinds of silly jokes and pranks you can play.

One popular prank is to put a fake spider or bug in someone's bed. Some people switch the salt and sugar containers in the kitchen! Just remember to keep your pranks harmless and funny. Nobody should get hurt or upset.

Be ready for some laughs and fun on April 1st. You never know what kind of silly prank someone might play on you, so keep your eyes open and be ready to laugh!
