Kindness - the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.
To me, being kind and compassionate is an essential quality to embody yet when you see all that is happening in the world, you wonder why it is so difficult to follow.
That is why the World Kindness Movement was formed in 1997 and why World Kindness Day began in 1998.
The purpose of World Kindness Day is to promote the importance of kindness and help everyone understand that compassion for others is what unites people around the world. On this day, it is encouraged celebrate and promote good deeds and pledge acts of kindness.
This year, World Kindness Day is on November 13, 2022 and the theme is “Be Kind Whenever Possible.”
As an author, the best way I can help is by writing books that teach children meaning of kindness and compassion and illustrate simple ways they can exemplify this quality.
That’s the purpose behind my book “Ellen the Elephant.” Through a true story depicted by a kind and funny elephant character, I hope young children understand the importance of kindness and how simple acts of kindness can make the world a better place.
